Volleyball Recap: St. Edward's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Edward walked away with it. They came out on top against the Brevard HEAT Firehawks by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won three matchups in a row.

While St. Edward's might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Brevard HEAT scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21.

Grace Clemente paced St. Edward's offense, picking up 25 kills. Clemente got some help from Margaret Fykes and her 52 assists. Finally, Nevin Waddell kept St. Edward's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Brevard HEAT lost, don't look at Emily Livengood. Despite the final result, she had 34 digs and two aces. Livengood has been hot, having posted 20 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

St. Edward's win bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Brevard HEAT, the loss snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 22-6 record.

As of now, neither St. Edward's nor the Firehawks have any future games scheduled.
