1A District 1 Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Saturday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Jamar Smith Goes Supernova in Glasgow Win

Thanks in part to Jamar Smith, Glasgow said goodbye to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season. Smith was unstoppable on Saturday, rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles.

Smith and Glasgow will square off against Christiana at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Vikings, probably because Smith had a solid game then too: he rushed for 120 yards. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Gino Greer was instrumental in extending Tatnall's winning streak to 17 on Saturday. Nobody could stop Greer as he rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Aldas Came Up Big in Wilmington Charter's 12-7 Loss

Wilmington Charter had to settle for second on Saturday, but Juan Aldas sure wasn't going down easily. Nobody could stop Aldas as he picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

If history really does repeat itself, Aldas might just drop another big game when he faces off against St. Elizabeth on Saturday. Aldas picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles (4.0 for loss) the last time he and the Vikings duked it out back in November of 2023.

Kameryn Swinney Turns in Season-Best Effort

Kameryn Swinney produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Glasgow to the win on Saturday. Swinney wasn't messing around, picking up a sack, making 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. The contest was his third straight with six or more total tackles dating back to last season.

Swinney must have Wilmington Charter's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Swinney saw the Force), he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
