Basketball Recap: Newport's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Newport entered their tilt with Hillsboro-Deering on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They strolled past the Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats with points to spare, taking the game 52-33. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hillcats, too.

Newport's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Hillsboro-Deering, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Newport will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hillsboro-Deering: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
