Baseball Recap: Schuylerville Beats Coxsackie-Athens for Their Third Straight Victory

Schuylerville entered their tilt with Coxsackie-Athens on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Riverhawks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Horses also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Alex Renner was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex DeGregory, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Schuylerville's win bumped their record up to 6-1-1. As for Coxsackie-Athens, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Schuylerville will square off against South Glens Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 0.5 runs per game this season, so the Horses' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Coxsackie-Athens, they will head out on the road to face off against Ichabod Crane at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
