Basketball Recap: Pitman Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Pitman picked up another tournament win on Friday. They took down the San Leandro Pirates 63-49. Given the Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Pirates are ranked 867th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Pitman and bumps their season record up to 8-1. As for San Leandro, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Pitman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-54 victory against Frontier on the 14th. San Leandro and Fremont will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fremont will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something San Leandro surely won't give up without a fight.
