Olathe Northwest put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 44-34 win over the Olathe East Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-48 back in December of 2024.

Olathe Northwest was led to victory by Jj Lee and Gavin Popik. Lee dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards, while Popik posted 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Popik has scored at least a third of Olathe Northwest's points. Cash Christiansen also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Olathe Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Olathe East, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Olathe Northwest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-51 defeat against Shawnee Mission Northwest on the 14th. As for Olathe East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-45 win against Lawrence on the 14th.
