Basketball Recap: Zuni Takes a Loss

Zuni was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 55-42 to the Wingate Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunderbirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-48 back in January.

It was another big night for Morning Sky Iron Moccasin, who posted 17 points for Wingate. Iron Moccasin's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Rhianna Begay, who put up 12 points.

Zuni's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Wingate, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-9.

Zuni has already played their next matchup, a 59-32 defeat against Navajo Prep on the 8th. As for Wingate, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-48 win against Newcomb on the 8th.
