Volleyball Recap: Campolindo Cougars vs. Heritage Patriots

Campolindo and Heritage squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Campolindo had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Campolindo started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-23.

Heritage was led to victory by Nathan Panggat and Cole Fujinaga. Panggat had 25 assists and six digs, while Fujinaga had 15 assists and six digs. That's the most digs Fujinaga has posted since back in April. Zallond Mashal also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Campolindo has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-19 record this season. As for Heritage, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10.

Campolindo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Irvington on the 8th.
