Soccer Game Preview: Gulliver Prep vs. St. Thomas Aquinas

The Gulliver Prep Raiders and the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Thomas Aquinas is hoping to do what East Ridge couldn't on Friday: put an end to Gulliver Prep's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Everything went Gulliver Prep's way against East Ridge as Gulliver Prep made off with a 5-1 victory. Tomas Bellatin was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas' game on Saturday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They never let Palmetto Ridge onto the board and left with a 6-0 win. With that victory, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 2.7 goals per game.

St. Thomas Aquinas pushed their record up to 9-3-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those six contests. As for Gulliver Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which somehow still isn't as good as their 9-1-1 record this season.
