Game recap: Valley Christian High School Football Team defeats Salesian

DUBLIN, Calif. - After two lead changes, Valley Christian (Dublin, Calif.) took the lead for good when Howard Wikle ran for a touchdown with 11:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to beat Salesian (Richmond, Calif.) 41-33 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Michael Page touchdown run, the Pride went into halftime with a 27-14 lead. The Vikings took the lead for good with a Wikle touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Salesian's Page played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught two touchdowns.

Wikle was the top performer for Valley Christian. The senior running back ran for four touchdowns. He has now scored 23 touchdowns on the season.

SHS came in giving up 12.3 points per game this season. The Richmond school struggled against VC's offense, which entered the game scoring 32.8 points per game.



The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Pride took, 35-7.

The loss comes after Salesian defeated Berean Christian 49-7 last week. The loss snapped Salesian's 3-game winning streak. With the win the Dublin school extended its winning streak to four games.
