Baseball Recap: Haslett's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After low-scoring totals in their previous four match, Haslett brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They put the hurt on the Northwest Mounties with a sharp 14-4 win on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Haslett got a massive performance out of Ayden Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The Vikings are undefeated when Smith posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-10 otherwise. Jacob Rienstra was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Haslett hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Haslett's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Northwest, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Haslett will square off against DeWitt at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest, they will head out to take on Coldwater at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
