Softball Recap: Princeton Tigers vs. Stanberry Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Worth County, Princeton was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Stanberry Bulldogs 9-8. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Princeton got a great performance from Kelsey Goodin as she tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Macey Lewis was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Addy Henke, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Princeton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Stanberry, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Princeton is on the road again on Saturday to play Worth County at 1:45 p.m. Princeton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season. As for Stanberry, they will take on Maysville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
