Basketball Recap: York Prep Takes a Loss

York Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 73-12 loss at the hands of the Queen's Grant Stallions. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-7.

Leading Queen's Grant to victory were Za'Miya Bynum and Misa Garris. Bynum dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 steals, while Garris dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 12 assists, and ten steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Bynum has scored at least a third of Queen's Grant's points. Another player making a difference was Casey Smith, who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points along with five blocks and four steals.

York Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Queen's Grant, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York Prep will welcome Chesterfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Queen's Grant, they will take on Jackson Day at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Queen's Grant has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 209 points over their last three matches.
