Baseball Game Preview: Cinnaminson Pirates vs. Holy Cross Lancers

The Cinnaminson Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Holy Cross Lancers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cinnaminson has four straight wins, Holy Cross has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Cinnaminson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Pitman on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Pirates with their most commanding win of the season.

Rocco Randazzo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jude Zarnowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Gavin Bobrek was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Cinnaminson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Holy Cross' offense. They fell 5-0 to Maple Shade on Thursday.

Cinnaminson pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Holy Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Cinnaminson took their victory against Holy Cross in their previous meeting back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
