Soccer Recap: Carnegie Vanguard Comes Up Short

Carnegie Vanguard pushed their score to zero the last time they played Sharpstown, but on Wednesday they couldn't quite do it again. The Carnegie Vanguard Rhinos fell just short of the Sharpstown Apollos by a score of 1-0. The Rhinos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Apollos from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

Carnegie Vanguard's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sharpstown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Coming up, Carnegie Vanguard will welcome Galena Park at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sharpstown, they will head out to face off against Austin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sharpstown will be up against Austin's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.4 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
