Basketball Recap: Life Center Academy Comes Up Short

Life Center Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 78-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peddie Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Falcons are ranked 23rd).

When it comes to explaining why Life Center Academy lost, don't look at Rasheem Yon. Despite the final result, he went 11 for 16 en route to 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. What's more, Yon also posted a 69% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. David Massengo was another key player, going 6 of 10 to rack up 13 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Life Center Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Life Center Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Peddie, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Coming up, Life Center Academy will square off against Phelps at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peddie, they will face off against Hightstown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
