White Bear Lake has gone 9-1 against Woodbury recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Royals at 4:30 p.m. White Bear Lake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Woodbury's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
White Bear Lake was handed a eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall. Surprisingly, this marked the Bears' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Lilly Martin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
Martin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Teagan Kotzmacher, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. Lauren Elias also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
White Bear Lake hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cretin-Derham Hall struck out 15 times.
Woodbury not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 10-0). They never let Irondale get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Not much got past Olivia Ingvalson, who gave up just three hits to keep Irondale off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Annabelle Arneson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Hannah Rushing was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
White Bear Lake has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Woodbury, their record is now 6-7.
White Bear Lake beat Woodbury 3-0 in their previous meeting last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
