Football Game Preview: Bloomington Purple Raiders vs. Peoria Notre Dame Irish

The Bloomington Purple Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Peoria Notre Dame Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Peoria Notre Dame likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Bloomington ended up a good deal behind Normal Community and lost 56-42. The Purple Raiders have struggled against the Ironmen recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Peoria Notre Dame waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 67-24 win over the Rams. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Irish this season.

Peoria Notre Dame's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Bloomington, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Bloomington against Peoria Notre Dame in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 34-7 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Irish's Jack Hanley, who rushed for 147 yards and one score on only eight carries.
