Basketball Game Preview: Lake Gibson Braves vs. Bartow Yellow Jackets + Official Tickets

Lake Gibson hasn't had much luck against Bartow recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Braves will be home for the holidays to greet the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Lake Gibson had taken Kathleen down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Braves took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Red Devils are ranked 291st).

Meanwhile, Bartow strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 68-61 victory over Norland. The score was all tied up 33-33 at the break, but the Yellow Jackets were the better team in the second half.

Bartow's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Lake Gibson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Lake Gibson ended up a good deal behind Bartow in their previous matchup back in January, losing 79-60. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Yellow Jackets' Ja'Kylen Crossley, who went 7-for-13 from beyond the arc to rack up 33 points. Now that the Braves know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
