Basketball Recap: O'neil Bruce Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lovejoy

While Morrow didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down the Lovejoy Wildcats 57-42 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Morrow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but O'Neil Bruce led the charge by putting up 15 points. Those 15 points gave Bruce a new career-high. Devin Chester was another key player, earning six points and eight steals.

Morrow's record is now 6-3. As for Lovejoy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrow will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crest at 1:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Lovejoy, they will head out to challenge Griffin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
