Baseball Game Preview: Sequim Wolves vs. Kingston Buccaneers

Sequim and Kingston are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Wolves will face off against the Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last five games Sequim has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Sequim prevailed. They skirted past North Mason 6-4. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Kingston didn't have quite enough to beat Bremerton on Thursday and fell 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Buccaneers have lost by just one run.

Vaka Tameilau made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Kingston and nudges their season record down to 1-4. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Sequim, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Sequim came out on top in a nail-biter against Kingston in their previous matchup last Tuesday, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
