Basketball Recap: Andon Olson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Broken Bow

Valentine won the last time they faced Broken Bow and things went their way on Friday too. Valentine walked away with a 57-48 victory over the Broken Bow Indians. The win made it back-to-back victories for Valentine.

Valentine's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andon Olson, who went 9 of 20 on his way to 22 points. Olson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Isaac Cronin was another key player, going 6 for 12 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dominic Nowak, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Zachary Jackson, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and seven assists.

The victory got Valentine back to even at 8-8. As for Broken Bow, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

When Valentine and Broken Bow next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Valentine will take on Cozad and their five-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valentine is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Broken Bow will try to stop Ogallala's 15-game winning streak when the meet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
