Mt. Carmel and University City squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mt. Carmel had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 3-1. The Sundevils' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Mt. Carmel got a good showing from Jack Grassa, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Grassa has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
