Softball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Sedro-Woolley's Winning Streak

Sedro-Woolley dropped their record down to 21-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's 21-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Garfield Bulldogs by a score of 5-4. The Cubs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 10-3.

As for Garfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. Five seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Garfield's part, Sammy Breckenridge spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits. Breckenridge has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jordana King was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Sedro-Woolley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Garfield, they will challenge Liberty at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
