Softball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Cougars vs. Dock Mennonite Pioneers

Calvary Christian Academy extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-10 in the process. They lost 20-0 to the Dock Mennonite Pioneers. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Dock Mennonite, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Considering they have won six matches by more than ten runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Dock Mennonite's part, Dana Delamater made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Delamater was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Dock Mennonite got a massive performance out of Avery Kutzner, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Kutzner has hit this season. Addison Landis was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coincidentally, Calvary Christian Academy and Dock Mennonite will both be playing Delaware County Christian the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Pioneers will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
