AAAA Region II recap Nov. 7, 2012

Gaffney extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region II this week by beating Spartanburg, 35-12. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Indians.

Boiling Springs led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Mauldin.

Byrnes's dynamic duo of Shuler Bentley and Evan Sudduth proved tough for Wade Hampton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bentley threw for 313 yards and six touchdowns and Sudduth had 116 yards receiving. Akia Booker helped Byrnes' passing attack out by catching four balls for 92 yards.

Hyleck Foster was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 158 yards on 20 carries as Gaffney bested the Generals. Teammate JoJo McGill added to the ground attack by rushing for 25 yards.

Byrnes' Bentley and Booker have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading AAAA Region II in both passing and receiving yards. Bentley has thrown for 3898 yards this season, while Booker, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 69 catches for 1323 yards. Dan Jones' team's Foster leads the league in rushing yards with 1195.
