Basketball Recap: Shadow Hills Knights vs. Calexico Bulldogs
Shadow Hills kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Calexico Bulldogs 65-37. The Knights lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 47-45 score last time.
Jacob Jauregui and Derick Silva certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jauregui went 8-for-17 to rack up 16 points, while Silva posted ten points and five rebounds.
Calexico can attribute much of their success to Sabino Martinez, who had 11 points and eight assists. That's the most assists Martinez has posted since back in December of 2024. Edgar Mendoza was another key player, putting up 14 points.
Shadow Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-48 win against AGBU on the 21st. As for Calexico, they have also already played their next contest, an 81-63 defeat against Bishop Amat on the 21st.
