Basketball Recap: Preble Shawnee Takes a Loss

Preble Shawnee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 49-32 fall against the Ansonia Tigers. The Arrows were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Preble Shawnee still got an impressive performance from Aubrey Unger, who posted 15 points and six steals. Unger is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Josie Mondello-Garrett was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Preble Shawnee's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Ansonia, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Preble Shawnee has already played their next matchup, a 74-25 defeat against Oakwood on the 27th. As for Ansonia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-41 win against Middletown Christian on the 28th.
