Volleyball Game Preview: La Joya Coyotes vs. Weslaco Panthers

La Joya is 0-4 against Weslaco since August of 2023 but things could change on Saturday. The Coyotes will host the Panthers at 12:00 p.m.

La Joya came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-4, 25-7.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Weslaco faced off against Economedes on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.

While Weslaco won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23, 25-12.

La Joya better keep an eye on Madison Martinez. She was instrumental in Weslaco's win, getting 16 assists and four digs.

Weslaco's win bumped their record up to 20-16. As for La Joya, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.
