Softball Recap: Milford Takes a Loss

Milford lost against Attleboro back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Scarlet Hawks fell just short of the Bombardiers by a score of 7-6.

Cae Pellegrini and Brooke Stokes stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pellegrini went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Stokes went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Katelyn Kearnan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Milford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Attleboro, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Milford and Attleboro could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Scarlet Hawks will challenge King Philip Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (83 vs. 16). Meanwhile, Attleboro (ranked 31st) will meet Taunton (ranked second) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
