Baseball Recap: Ferguson Beats Calvary Christian Academy for Their Third Straight Victory

Ferguson won against Keys Gate last Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Falcons walked away with a 7-4 win over the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Alejandro Suarez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Erick Leyva was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Alfonso, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Ferguson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .355.

Ferguson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7-3.

Ferguson has already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Somerset Academy on the 26th. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 9-8 defeat against Dwyer on the 26th.
