Volleyball Recap: LaCrosse Takes a Loss

LaCrosse had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-13 to make it 12. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Gray Rebels. The Leopards were not able to make up for their loss to the Rebels from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

As for South Gray, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-2. Surprisingly, this marked their fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Leading South Gray to victory were Jonalee Zweygardt and Keagan Mel Eesa Showalter. Zweygardt had 12 assists and six aces, while Mel Eesa Showalter had six digs and three aces. Zweygardt is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Coming up, LaCrosse will welcome Ellinwood on Tuesday. As for South Gray, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Kiowa County on the 27th.
