Softball Recap: La Salle Beats Sacred Heart of Jesus for Their Seventh Straight Victory

La Salle entered their tilt with Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Comets get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Havana Pagan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Aria Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Jadyn Shaver was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

La Salle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .382 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

La Salle's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, they moved to 12-8 with that defeat, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, La Salle will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Genevieve at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sacred Heart of Jesus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
