Baseball Game Preview: Port Edwards Blackhawks vs. Pittsville Panthers

Port Edwards is 1-9 against Pittsville since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Blackhawks will face off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Almond-Bancroft hit Port Edwards with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blackhawks lost 10-0 to the Eagles. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pittsville challenged Pacelli on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 1-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Port Edwards' loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Pittsville, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-5.

Port Edwards might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Pittsville in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Blackhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
