Football Recap: Providence Hall Falls to Parowan in First Game of Season

Providence Hall unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Parowan Rams by a score of 27-24 on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Hunter Bettridge went supernova For Parowan., rushing for 276 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 79 yards and one TD. What's more, Bettridge racked up 85.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chandler Hoffmeier, who rushed for 94 yards and one score.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Hall will square off against Gunnison Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Parowan, they will challenge American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 937 yards in their previous games.
