Softball Recap: Navajo Prep Beats Northwest for Their Third Straight Win

Navajo Prep entered their tilt with Northwest on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Falcons 41-4. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Isabella Yazzie made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Yazzie was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Navajo Prep got a massive performance out of Amia Salazar, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and five runs. With that strong performance, Salazar is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Madisyn Redhouse was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Navajo Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .787. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Navajo Prep's record now sits at 8-4. As for Northwest, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Navajo Prep beat the Falcons by a score of 29-2 later that day.
