Basketball Recap: Lincoln Prep Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Miami, Lincoln Prep was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 33-30 win over the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lightning also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Lexi Treglia, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Mattie Droeg was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

Lincoln Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Cicero Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Chelsea Leggat almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Those 15 points gave Leggat a new career-high.

Lincoln Prep's record is now 6-8. As for Cicero Prep Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8.

Lincoln Prep has already played their next matchup, a 47-27 victory against Veritas Prep on the 22nd. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-31 defeat against Fort Thomas on the 22nd.
