Basketball Recap: Millikan Sets Scoring Season-High Against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Millikan). They strolled past the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 84-66.

Leading Millikan to victory were Quali Giran and Jeremiah Hunt. Giran shot 50% from the field en route to 28 points along with seven assists and six boards, while Hunt went 11-for-15 to rack up 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. Thanks to that strong game, Giran now owns an excellent 40.7% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Christian Parron, who shot 88% from the field on his way to 14 points and eight boards.

Millikan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

The win got Millikan back to even at 4-4. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Millikan will head out on the road to challenge Leuzinger at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Cabrillo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
