Football Recap: New London Whalers vs. Windham Whippets
New London was the 27-12 winner over Windham when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The New London Whalers took a 42-28 bruising from the Windham Whippets on Friday. The Whalers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
A big part of Windham's win came down to the chemistry between Francisco Alvarado and his top target Deshawn Chapman. Alvarado rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns while Chapman rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
New London's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Windham, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New London will host Thames River co-op [Norwich RVT/Grasso RVT/St. Bernard] at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Windham, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Griswold at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
