Softball Recap: Mart Wins Going Away Against Dawson

Mart barely beat Dawson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-2 win on Thursday. The Panthers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th (when they won 11-0).

Mart got a massive performance out of Savanna Fornash, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Fornash has posted since back in March of 2024. Reagan Desmuke also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Mart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Mart and bumps their season record up to 13-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Dawson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

As of now, neither Mart nor Dawson have any future games scheduled.
