Basketball Game Preview: Covington Buccs vs. Riverside Pirates

The Covington Buccs will head out to take on the Riverside Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Covington is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Houston.

Meanwhile, Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-47 loss to Temple Christian. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly nine points.

Covington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Covington couldn't quite finish off Riverside in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 63-60. Can Covington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
