Volleyball Recap: Cory-Rawson Comes Up Short on the Road Against Van Buren

Cory-Rawson kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 3-0 to the Van Buren Black Knights. If the Fighting Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Black Knights when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-7.

Lydia Ponn was nothing short of spectacular for Van Buren: she had six aces and one block. Those six aces gave Ponn a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Cory-Rawson will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Riverdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van Buren, they will welcome Fostoria at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
