It was a good run, but Lawrence-Nelson unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to the Silver Lake Mustangs on the road by a 56-40 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-28 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Lawrence-Nelson lost, don't look at Caden Culbertson. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points.

Silver Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Paxton Sorensen led the charge by shooting 50% from the field to rack up 15 points and six boards. Casey Conway was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points.

Lawrence-Nelson's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Silver Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Lawrence-Nelson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Silver Lake, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-37 win against Ansley/Litchfield on the 1st.
