Volleyball Recap: Scott Comes Up Short

Scott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Colby Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Thursday.

Scott started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 25-13.

Peyton Gentry paced Scott's offense, picking up 13 kills. Gentry got some help from Kinleigh Wren and her 15 assists.

Scott's loss dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Colby, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-17-1 record this season.

Scott wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Hugoton on the 11th. As for Colby, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Holcomb on the 11th.
