Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kylee Beranek and Gabrielle Brown Lead New Palestine to Victory

After losing to Bloomington North the last time they met, New Palestine decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The New Palestine Dragons came out on top against the Bloomington North Cougars by a score of 45-37 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.

Leading New Palestine to victory were Gabrielle Brown and Kylee Beranek. Brown went 5 for 8 en route to 16 points and four steals, while Beranek dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Sadey Hughbanks, who posted eight points.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Audrey Burton, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Robbennolt, who put up 12 points.

The victory got New Palestine back to even at 7-7. As for Bloomington North, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

New Palestine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-29 win against Triton Central on the 14th. Bloomington North has also already played their next match, a 48-41 victory against Terre Haute South Vigo on the 11th.
