Basketball Game Preview: Leyton Warriors vs. Bayard Tigers

Leyton hasn't had much luck against Bayard recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Leyton Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Bayard Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Leyton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Saturday, Leyton got the win against Hay Springs by a conclusive 50-29. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bayard duked it out withMorrill on Tuesday. Bayard took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morrill. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Leyton pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Bayard, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Everything came up roses for Leyton against Bayard in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leyton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
