Recap: Dixie County Bears vs. Trenton Tigers
The Dixie County Bears lost against the Trenton Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Dixie County was beaten by Trenton 56-22.
Leading Trenton to victory were Audrey Hubbard and Nyima Gillyard. Hubbard scored 11 points along with 6 steals, while Gillyard scored 15 points along with 5 steals. The match was Gillyard's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayley Sloan, who scored 10 points.
Dixie County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Trenton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dixie County will take on Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lafayette focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Friday. As for Trenton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hilliard at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hilliard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Trenton is ranked 117th).
