Baseball Recap: West Park Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Park had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Ceres Bulldogs by a score of 9-5. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Mason Zobel made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Zobel was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Preston Davis looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, West Park got a massive performance out of Ayden Deome, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Jace Oliver was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

West Park lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

West Park pushed their record up to 23-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ceres, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-9.

West Park has already played their next match, a 10-9 win against Manteca on the 9th. Ceres does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
