Volleyball Recap: Hillhouse Takes a Loss

Hillhouse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Shelton Gaels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gaels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 8th.

Hillhouse took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-23.

Shelton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesseca Zotova led the charge by getting nine digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Avery Wheeler, who had eight digs and two aces.

Hillhouse's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Shelton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hillhouse will challenge rival Lyman Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Shelton is set to square off against their familiar foe Hamden at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
