Basketball Game Preview: Monte Vista Christian Mustangs vs. Pacific Grove Breakers

The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs will take on the Pacific Grove Breakers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Monte Vista Christian easily dispatched North Salinas on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Monte Vista Christian fell just short of Carmel by a score of 33-30 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pacific Grove). They blew past North Salinas, posting a 62-25 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Breakers sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Pacific Grove has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Monte Vista Christian, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Monte Vista Christian strolled past Pacific Grove in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 52-33. Does Monte Vista Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pacific Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
